Run ten kilometers and you arrive exhausted.

The length did not change neither did your legs. The only difference is two wheels and a chain between your legs and the ground.

A bicycle does not give you more power. It helps to use your power efficiently and stops you from wasting it.

With LLMs we have built the most powerful machines in human history, and 99% of the companies are still letting them walk instead of giving them two wheels and a chain

In a bike you shouldn't use a wheel as a chain replacement and the same other way around, because both are conceptioned and built specifically for this purpose. its the same with ai, every model is trained on specific data, tests and use cases, meaning using only 1-3 models simply means you use a wheel as a chain, a chain as a steering wheel and so on

Anthropic can only sell you Anthropic models.. OpenAI can only sell you OpenAI models. Google can only sell you Google models.

They are not villains. They are locked in. If you own one family of models, that family has to cover every job your customer has, code, analysis, writing, translation, support, because you cannot hand them a competitor. So they build models that are strong everywhere.

Being strong everywhere is not the same as leading efficiently anywhere. No single model efficiently leads every category. None ever has.

No lab can give you the most efficient model for every job, because for almost every job, the most efficient model belongs to someone else.

Every lab on earth could stop training tonight and almost nothing would change, because almost nothing we already have is being sent to the right place.

We are not short on AI models. We are short on orchestration.

We will never build a model; a glove does not make stones. We own none of them, so we have no reason to prefer any of them. We put every model in the world behind one platform, split every task into its real parts, and send each part to the model that owns it.
